My name’s Cameron Clews, and I hate trying to make myself seem like a cool guy, so apologies in advance.
I graduated from Salford University in 2016 with a Bachelors degree in animation, whereupon I tried and failed being the aforementioned cool guy by being an independent commissioned artist.
After learning that drawing pornography for strangers online isn’t actually as fun as it sounds, I went back to Uni in 2017 and got my Masters degree in Creative Writing one year thereafter.
This site is primarily dedicated to the work that I started in said Masters degree, primarily my visual/ uncreative writing hybrid piece from which the site is named after “Arrangement and Presentation” Also this is largely because the actual title of the project is too long to fit into a URL. “Arrangement and Presentation: Why looking at a man with two stab wounds gives you the power of perspective, or why I learned to become a hipster and embrace the pretentious twaddle. Self-aware edition.”
It takes inspiration from the literary works of Kenneth Goldsmith and Raymond Queneau, as well as the visual works of Mark Madden and Trey Hamburger, to create a whole that can be wholly impenetrable, but never without a story or purpose. It challenges the convention that art should have no purpose beyond its own existence by using this unorthodox method of presentation to either comment on or challenge social or artistic movements, as well as serving as a window into my own tangential thought process on how these images came about, as well as more personal driving emotions.
Or, in laymans terms, this is what happens when my brain explodes onto a photoshop document. So there’s lots of complaining, lots of obscure pop-culture references, and lots of nudity.
This website is also playing host to more traditional literary works of mine as well, namely “A Want For Unwanted Wantings” originally titled “Depressing Shit For Twats.”
It concerns three young adults whose lives are in various states of disarray and misery, and it deals with their relationships both with each other, and with their vices. It’s told in a non-linear first person format and switches perspectives from character to character, though for the purposes of this website, each character will simply have a page with their designated chapters shown on them. Each character is also widely different from the next, and given its non-linear format, the realisation of what they’ve done and the power of hindsight in the face of the terrible things that both happen to them and they commit themselves, become more and more terrifyingly clear.
Or in laymans terms, it’s a bunch of depressing shit for twats, which has an overabundance of the word fuck, or words that contain fuck.
I’m also available for parties upon request.
